Ralph Benedict was born and raised on a dairy farm in Mount Hope. He presently resides on his great-grandfather's farm in Mount Hope with his wife and three daughters.
After graduating from the University of Western Ontario Law School in 1983, Ralph was called to the Bar in Ontario in 1985. Once a partner in the Hamilton law firm, Ross & McBride, he managed its Caledonia office from its inception in 1987 and his office is still in Caledonia where he has practiced in association with David Ferguson since 1993.
Ralph maintains a traditional solicitor's practice which does not involve litigation, but emphasizes the areas of real estate, preparation of wills, estate administration and business law. His real estate practice involves all areas of mortgaging and refinancing of residential and commercial properties, development and registration of subdivisions and condominiums, and all aspects of the purchase, sale and refinancing of agricultural properties and businesses. His estate practice involves preparation of wills and powers of attorney, administration of estates, assistance to Estate Trustees, and resolution of estate disputes.
